Leaders march ahead
 
 
Overnight leaders T.Gobin , I. Krishna , S. Teja and P.L.Sahiti marched ahead in their respective categories with a thumping win in the sixth round   at the National Children Chess Championship at Orient Club , Ahmedabad. 
  Manipur lad , T.Gobin outclassed second seed P. Ghosh in the U-9 Boys Category in 53 moves of the Sicilian Najdorf with some series of excellent moves on move no 19,21 and 23 . S. Daklia (M.P.) after a marathon game of 62 moves moved  to second spot with a win against Sankalp Modwal (Delhi) the Petroff’s Defence . In a drawn ending , Sankalp payed the penalty to go for a win and blundered  to lose the full point.  
In the U-9 Girls , I. Krishna (A.P.)  continued to impress with her  superb endgame technique to defeat Priya Ratnam (Bihar) in 77 moves of the Guico Piano opening taking her tally to six points . While on the second board , Gujarat's major hope Sonam Shah (Gujarat) misplayed  a winning position against D.Meenu (A.P.) in the Sicilian Defence. Sonam had a crushing attack , but faltered in the calculations which led to the exchange of the queens and further she lost a piece .  

S.Ravi Teja (A.P.) marched ahead on 6 points  with a resounding win in 40 moves of the King's Indian Defence against P.Negi (Delhi) in the U-7 Boys Championship. However Top Seed , Kumar Gaurav (Bihar) is trailing by just a half point with a 66 moves victory over  Tarun Murli (ECC) in Ruy Lopez. 

In the U-7 Girls section , P. L. Sahithi (A.P.) looks to be hot favourite as she has moved to 6 points with a classic win over Pallabi Roy (WB) in 57 moves of the Sicilian Najdorf opening.  A bad day for T.Amrutha on the second board as she was feeling very ill on the board and had to resigned  against C.H.Savetha in view of her health in an equal position where  only 25 moves had been made.
