| The 38th National B Chess Championship
sponsored by corporate giant TATA STEEL and organised by East Singhbhum
District Chess Association attracted more than 250 players from all around
the country. This is considered to be one of the strongest championships
of India. This 38th edition saw more than 10 International Masters, five
players with 2400+ Elo rating and more than 120 FIDE rated players in the
battle for the top 12 slots which will take them to the National 'A'.
The venue, TATA Sports Complex is excellent and very well designed. The top seed of the event is R.B.Ramesh ( Elo 2450 ) . Young blood Sandipan Chanda, Neelotpal Das are hot contenders for the top 12 slot. Senior players like G.B.Prakash , V.Koshy, P.Konguvel, K. Murugan are also fighting hard for a place. The organisers have put up an excellent show by offering good facilities to all the participants. The playing conditions are also good and players look forward to come to Jamshedpur again for any chess event. Thirteen rounds in all , with a rest day we can look forward to exciting chess and hope for new talents to emerge on the Indian chess scene. A mega event being organised in a mega style with a mega support like TATA STEEL. |
