Arrival/Reporting: July 19. Departure: July 27 from 7 p.m.

Schedule: July 20, 2009 11 a.m. inauguration, round one 3 p.m. Eleven rounds. Prizes: July 27 4 p.m.

Prize Fund: Total cash prizes Rs.300,000. Main prizes: Rs.60,000 + trophy, 2 35,000, 3 25,000, 4 20,000, 5 15,000, 6 12,000, 7 10,000, 8 8,000, 9 7,000, 10 6,000, 11-15 5,000 each, 16-20 4,000 each, 21-30 2,500 each. Promising talent (Karnataka state) 1 Rs.1500, 2 Rs.2000. (South Kanara District) 1 Rs.1500 2 Rs.1000. Organisers Special prize (at discretion of organisers) Rs.1500. Special prizes: Unrated 1 Rs.2000, 2 Rs.1500. Woman (above 18): Rs.2000. Veteran (above 55) Rs.2,000. Category prizes (U-7, 9, 11, 13, 15 Boys and Girls separate): 1 Rs.1000, 2 Rs.800. Trophies will be awarded to youngest player boy/girl as well as category sections. No prizes will be shared.

Entry: Restricted to the first 300 players. All entries should be sent along with demand draft in favour of South Kanara District Chess Association, payable at Mangalore. Entry fee can be deposited at any Karnataka Bank branch to A/c 48725001 01309301 IFSC Code KARB 0000 487. Last date July 10, 2009. Entry with late fee Rs.300 upto July 19, 2009. Attractive gifts will be given to those who send entry along with entry fee on or before June 30, 2009.

Free entry for GMs, IMs, WGMs, WIMs, current National/Asian/World age group champions and for those 2400 and above.

Entry Fee Structure: Elo 2300-2399: Outstation Rs.600, Karnataka free, South Kanara free. Elo 2200-2299: Outstation Rs.700, Karnataka Rs.500, South Kanara free. Elo 2100-2199: Rs.800, Karnataka Rs.600, South Kanara Rs.500. Rated 2000-2099: Outstation Rs.1000, Karnataka Rs.800, South Kanara Rs.600. Elo 1800-1999: Outstation Rs.1200, Karnataka Rs.1000, South Kanara Rs.700. Elo 1800 and below: Outstation Rs1400, Karnataka Rs.1200, South Kanara Rs.900. Unrated: Outstation Rs.1700, Karnataka Rs.1400, South Kanara Rs.1100.

Lodging: 1. Free for all GMs, IMs, WGMs, WIMs, and current National, Asian, World title holders in age groups. Rated Elo 2400 and above free. 2. Hotel accommodation can be arranged at the following rates on sharing basis on advance payment. Elo 2200-2399 Rs.600, Elo 2000-2199 Rs.800, rated below 2000 Rs.1000, unrated Rs.1200. 3. Free dormitory accommodation for all outstation players for entries received before the due date only.

Some info: Venue is 5 km from Kankanady Station (Konkan Railway) and 1 km from Mangalore Station. There are clean beaches here. It will rain, monsoon period.
