Come January, the cynosure of all eyes move to the small Dutch town of Wijk Aan Zee. But matching
that global event is the Parsvnath International Open conducted during the same time in the capital city
of New Delhi by Delhi Chess Association. For
the partnership of DCA and Parsvnath in this annual event as benefited many an Indian and foreign player
with their International Master and Grandmaster Norms.
Their colorful homepage hosts a number of photos of winners of the recently concluded events in India and
abroad. The Indian angle in the news content is visible and positive. The homepage bar starts with important notices
and deals with the forthcoming Parsvnath International Open, with the event decidedly moving to a bigger showpiece venue in Indira Gandhi Indraprastha Stadium.
It is one event that portrays the hallmark of Delhi Chess Association and for the fifth edition running they are
turning out a fine job.
Next link on the left bar takes you to the recently concluded events, which holds a mixture of children
and FIDE rated tournaments. Then comes the Hot News, which holds the current topics of Indian interest.Ivana Furtado and Narayanan Srinath hog the
limelight in the immediate articles, for their recent achievements. Right below the hot news link, is the

The center news bar in the homepage, gives priority to the news makers from Delhi. Starting with Parsvnath
Group Chairman Pradeep Jain, the achievements of young Delhi lad Vaibhav Suri in the Asian Schools Chess at
Singapore. Following Vaibhav is the two big achievers from New Delhi, Parimarjan Negi and Tania
Sachdev. The duo has brought glory to Delhi, with the former becoming the second youngest Grandmaster in the
history of the game and the latter becoming the first girl from Delhi to clinch the national champion title.
The photo gallery on homepage depicts the DCA organizing events with children taking the major share
of space. The external link for the Laws of Chess takes one to the FIDE Handbook directly. While some of
the links are under updation, the twin links of the list of academies and coaches, says the big time chess in Delhi is a happening thing. For the list if long
and the names of the coaches include the big and famous. Starting with two International Masters on the
top, the long list includes players with wealth of experience and serious chess playing kids in Delhi
should be getting their due in a short time.
Other links on the bottom include the exchange of links to Chess Base, FIDE, AICF to name a few. Coming
