INDIAN BANK – VEL’S

19th National Under-9 Boys & Girls Chess Championship

4th June to 13th June 2005

At Vel’s College of Arts & Science, Velan Nagar, East Pallavaram, Chennai 600043

Location: 3 KM south of Chennai Airport along the GST Road, then 2 KM east across the Railway Line.

Reception: Inform us your arrival details and we shall receive you, or take Bus 18A from Chennai Central Compound, alight at Pallavaram bus stand and then take Autorickshaw.

 

Honour: The Champion in each category qualifies to the 2006 World U-10 and the

runner-up to the 2006 Asian U-10.

 

Cash Prizes identical in both categories: Rs 6600, 4700, 3300, 2800, 2200, 2000, 1700, 1100, 800, 800.

 

Schedule:

4th June: Arrival. Managers’ meeting at 6 P.M.

5th June: Round 1, 9:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M.

13th June: Round 11, 9:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. Closing ceremony 4:30 P.M.

 

Lodging: Free to two players in each category and one manager per state in college hostel. Others must pay.  Food available at College hostel on payment.

Age Limit: Should be born on or after 1 Jan 1996. Age proof required. Medical test, if necessary.

Eligibility: Each AICF affiliate is entitled to send two players in each category at Rs 500 per entry. For seedings refer to the prospectus.

 

Entry Fee: Rs 500 per entry. Donor entry: Rs 2000. All entries should come through their State Chess Association by DD on Chennai. Every player should be AICF-Registered for 2005.
